Cinco de Mayo Ride, 3 May, 2009

Judy and Al led this ride, the Cinco de Mayo Ride. We started at the County Administration Center, rode to Dog Beach, then up to Cabrillo Monument. From Dog Beach the ride worked its way up to Catalina. Three stalwarts went up to Catalina by way of Hill Street. One of these was a first time rider up that challenging route. Was it an eye opener Barbara? Let the record show she made it in fine shape.

At the Monument entry kiosk a couple of riders got their Golden Age Passes. Getting a Golden Age Pass at this time probably puts a Knickerbiker close to the median Knickerbiker age. Some of us have had one for quite some time and some can't get one yet.

But I digress. From the Monument the ride wound back past to the County Administration Center to lunch at the Farmer's Market. Some riders skipped that part of the ride as a precaution of the flu epidemic that is threatened.

It was a nice urban ride that was mostly out of traffic.

Thank you Al & Judy for a very nice ride.

Editor's Note:I'm trying something a little different this time, lots of photos, a minimum of captioning and no thumbnails. It will be a bit slow to load but hopefully by the time you have read this all the photos have loaded.

Enjoy, mjv

Some photos taken while we waited to start the ride.
Photographing the photographer.
We start riding.

Looks determined doesn't she.

This lady met us at Dog Beach and promised to ride with us soon.
Keep an eye out for her.

First time up Hill Street.

Feels GOOD!

One of those median Knickerbikers.

Is he sticking his tongue out at the photographer?

He sure is!

Does he take this too seriously?

Have a little fun like this lady.
Thank again Judy and Al,
for a great ride.
