Knickerbikers have traditionally manned (OMG. Can I say that anymore. Blame it on my age. Blame it on my ignorance. Blame it on my antipathy to political correctness.) the 25/75 mile support stop for the Stage Coach Century. In times past Knickerbikers have camped out at Aqua Caliente County Park, about 2 1/2 miles away. This year everyone but two drove out for the day. |

Last year we rode from Canebrake and arrived at the site a but late to receive the goods for the site. This year we camped at the site to insure we would not be late again.
We were up before sun up.
The sun came up to warm the desert ...

Larry Gitman, on the right, one of the ride organizers, was on hand to see everything was set up correctly.
At about the right time the first rider approached the site. It was clear this rider wasn't part of the Stage Coach Century, not riding nearly fast enough.
This is the first solo rider. He is riding for time and has no need to make a stop after only 25 miles. He didn't stop on the way back after 75 miles either.
