Mother's Day Ride

According to the Bull-A-Ton we were to meet at the Mission Valley Target parking lot. That's about the only thing we did according to the Bull-A-Ton. Instead of heading to Santee Lakes in Lakeside where the temperature was forecast to rise to unbearable we headed west and stayed close to the coast. We went to Robb Field in Ocean Beach and watched the mist hovering over the San Diego River and enjoyed the cool breeze. From OB we rode up Nimitz to Catalina and Catalina to the end. There were enough Golden Age Passes among us that we all got into Cabrillo National Monument. We rode around the loop and back out and down to Cedarbrae Lane where we discussed our lunch stop for the umpteenth time. We also worried some about riding by Spanish Landing because Gator-By-the-Bay was in progress.

Enjoy

We ended up eating lunch at Hazelwood's on the Embarcadero. It was a good choice. While we were having lunch, someone checked the temperatures on the waterfront in San Diego where we did ride, and in Santee where we didn't ride. It was 77 deg in San Diego and 99 deg in Santee!
