Carmel Valley Park and Ride

Gail and Dee led the ride. Their description stated, "This ride WILL have some hills and be OVER 30 miles, maybe even 35+." Further on in the description was, "There will NOT be a coffee break, and lunch will be near the end of the ride." Wow. this was to be a different kind of Knickerbiker ride. And it was. It was longer than most recent rides and had more hills. In spite of that, or more likely because of that, fifteen enthusiastic riders showed up, showed up for a great ride.

Gail Four really likes her little stand. She doesn't have to look around for a place to stand her bike while she gets ready to ride.

First stop was Cycle Quest for a pit stop. Thank you Sharon and Eric.

Some of us toasted with a beet drink that was supposed to give us an energy boost.

Then we were off for the rest of the ride.

Looks like the Palacio Del Mar residents are not too happy about the bike path through their neighborhood.

Oops, one last rider. Okay, he was sweeping.

Waiting for the light.

Not one of our group. Just a lady out for a ride on a beautiful day.

I had to ask this guy why he was carrying so much water. He told me that he was on his way home after a shopping trip. Needed some water so he got on his bike, rode to the store and now he was on his way home.

Gayle Z. joined us for lunch. Gail M. looking on.

Larry asked me to hold his bike. It's so light he was afraid it would float away ;-)
Thanks for the picture Larry.

Although many of us had now idea where we were most of the time on this ride it was a great ride. Thank you Gail and Dee.
