Meander Around Mission Bay

It was the usual Saturday "Medley" ride; meet at Old Town Trolley Stop, ride to Kevin's and decide where to ride.

Well, at the Trolley Stop Jeff offered to lead a ride around Mission Bay, after a stop at Kevin's Jump Start Coffee place of course. Jeff's route to Kevin's would be by way of Fiesta Island. Another group opted for a ride straight to Kevin's.

At Kevin's we saw Larry, Sandra, and Susan who had ridden straight to Kevin's. They had coffee there but they had another ride in mind. They rode to the top of Point Loma , turned around at the entrance to the monument, rode down to the harbor, rode around Shelter Island and had lunch at Mitch's. After lunch they meandered around Liberty Station and back to the Trolley Stop. Susan had ridden to the ride so she rode on home.

As our group rode up into Kevin's, the Zinns and Susan were ready to leave for their ride.

Three of the riders in Jeff's group, including Jeff, had coffee at Kevin's. The rest of the group rode out to Sunset Cliffs and returned. When we were all together at Kevin's we started out on Jeff's meander.

We said "Good bye" to Stephanie, the proprietress of Kevin's, and her dog, Jack.

The first stop of course was the bathroom at Robb field.

Bathroom stop completed we rode back down the path alongside the San Diego River.

We meandered over to Crown Point

Meanwhile, up on Point Loma, the Zinns, ...

... and Susan were enjoying the view of San Diego's other bay.

Lunch was at this no-name resturaunt. Even though it seemed to have no name the food was fine,

Following lunch we rode around the perimeter of the trailer park at DeAnsa Cove before heading back to the Trolley Stop.

Your reporter pealed off at the Visitor's Center and rode back home up Clairemont Drive. He wanted a little hill work after that flat ride around Mission Bay.

Surprisingly he arrived home just a couple of minutes after Susan, who had ridden 33.5 miles. Your reporter had 35. By riding up to the top of Point Loma she had probably gotten in as many hills as your reporter.
