Mesa Grande with Rain

We headed up to Ramona to ride from there to Mesa Grande. The rain was supposed to have passed through on Friday. However, it was a little slow clearing out. We got to Collier Park, the starting point. It wasn't raining on our arrival but it was plenty wet. We all went through plenty of rain on the way up.

The hard core riders showed up, Gene and Shirley, and Ron.

Karen was there ...

... as was Paul.

About ready to ride. That's Mike between Shirley and Paul.

First we went to check out the Dick Wayman Technology Center in the Ramona Library. Dick Wayman was a member of the Library Friends of San Diego County for many years. He had a lot to do with establishing a new library in Ramona. It was with Dick Wayman that I attempted to ride from Ramona to Mesa Grande the first time. It was one HOT HOT day. We got about half way up and decided we'd had enough. We found a tree to get out of the sun and ate our lunch, then rode back to Ramona.

The entrance to the Library both from the street and the parking lot are framed by beautiful stained glass.

We left the library and headed out. It was raining. At 7th Street it was either turn left and head to Mesa Grande or turn right and go for coffee. We opted for coffee.

We made our way to Ramona Cafe. We were lucky to find a table. Inside it looked like most of Ramona had stopped by for breakfast.

Oh yes, we tasted on one of those featured Cinnamon Rolls. Fortunately it was shared about 5 ways. Thanks Mike.

We hoped to wait out the rain, but when we finally left the diner it was still raining. We rode back to the parking lot. Three riders opted to ride around Ramona a bit. The rest of us headed home. Probably we should have held out a little longer as the weather did seem to clear as I headed west.
