Three/Two Island Ride
27 April, 2019

We met at the Old Town Trolley Stop per the usual Saturday routine. Gayle led. Someone called, "Time to ride." From the discussion that followed I understood the ride would be the standard Three Island Ride but in reverse. There was some discussion of lunch in OB, a great taco shop, but when someone pointed out there was no place in OB where we could all sit together comfortably, OB fell off the list of passibilities.

There was more discussion that I may not have paid much attention to. I was on the ride wherever it went.

First stop, the bathrooms at Water Front Park

At bat,

We leave the park like the (mostly) well behaved cyclists that we are.

View from the first island, Harbor Island

From this point of view, we see only the back of the riders.

Now we see the faces of the riders, but the background is not so interesting.
However, the sun is in their faces.

Looking this way, Point Loma is in the background.

Now we have the downtown and the Coronado Bridge in the background, but we have the faces in the shade.

Now we are on the second island, Shelter Island.

We have the sun in the cyclists face and a sculpture in the background.

Up Cañon

We rode to the entrance to Cabrillo Monument and regrouped, After some disucssion it was decided to regroup again at the "Yellow House." There was another discussion about the actual color of the "Yellow House."

No matter the actual color of the "Yellow House," we regrouped there for a discussion of the lunch site. In times past, the choice of the group would be, Mitch's. This time Mitch's wasn't even mentioned.

We ended up at Con Pane. Not a bad place for lunch.

Thank you Gayle for leading this ride.
